Power

In an emergency situation, access to basic appliances, could be life saving. It could be that you need to call for help, but your phone dies, or you need to use a CPAP machine to sleep, or, maybe, it's not as serious as all that. It could be as simple as having access to your entertainment during a sudden power outage. In this "gadgetized" society, most things need electricity to run.

So, how can you be prepared for a prolonged power outage: Keeping your phones and laptops charged, keeping foods chilled, running lights, fans (temperature control), etc? One very effective way would be to invest in portable power. This would be portable power stations and power banks for storing electricity, and portable solar panels for recharging these power stations, banks, and batteries.
